It was nice to be asked back again this month to change the menu and specials boards at the very popular “Tea house in the woods” in Woodhall Spa. If you have not been to the wonderful restaurant you are missing out as the food, staff and ambiance are fantastic and the Teahouse is a big part of Woodhall Spa’s history.

it was a real honour to work on yet another vintage aircraft again this month and especially one with such a great history and background. This Auster plane Flew over Dunkirk France spotting just after D day. Just the wings to do now. And what a way to end another fantastic year. Below are a few shots from the plane I painted earlier in the year which you may remember.
A nice pair of oil cans this month to paint. The first one was a Redline oil can with its distinctive red logo. It was followed by an even more colourful Shell Mex oil can. It’s always interesting and sometimes a challenge to paint, restore & letter different things both old and sometimes even modern.
This month I started work on a steam engine in Lincoln and first job was lining the wheels, seat box and gear covers. Later this month I start work on the engine itself. I really do have a wonderful job working on such beautiful machines. It is a real honour to be trusted with them and is never taken lightly.
it was nice to take some time out and go along to the Christmas Market in Lincoln this week and what a wonderful atmosphere it was up around the magnificent Cathedral and Castle at the top of Lincoln. Whilst up there I could not help taking some snaps of just a few off the many shops and stalls (with their wonderful Christmas decorations) which I had painted during the year.
The top of Lincoln really is a magical and magnificent place to work. Another fantastic job this month was to sign-write the new arch on the brand new Cornhill Quarter in the centre of Lincoln. The arch runs from the newly opened car park through to Sincil Street Pedestrian precinct. The sign had to be done before the opening of the Lincoln Christmas Market.
Due to scaffolding it was a very cramped position to work in but all went well. Now I just have to paint the other end of the tunnel when it finally gets primered & painted later this month. |
