2017 has been another great year and the best yet. I have been busy all throughout the year. Once again I have done lots of work for many councils and even picked up two more along the way. It would be hard to pick a highlight from the year as there were so many...... from painting on lots of brickwork and difficult surfaces which always bring a challenge to painting many vintage vehicles which are always enjoyable to do. So to my three favourite jobs of the year .... Thirdly it was the joy of restoring the village clock at Hemingby. iIt was so nice to be trusted with such a prestigious job and to have followed such a great signwritier but being asked to put my name on the clock and become part of the village church’s history was was a real honour. Secondly was restoring and repainting the four Coningsby village signs which I pass on a regular bassis. It was such a thrill to paint on the Hurricane, Spitfire and the Lancaster and one of the four signs even stands outside the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. I was really pleased to have seen visitors to the flight taking pictures of the sign. But the top job of the year was the absolute honour of painting a vintage aircraft at Wickenby. The plane was steeped in history and had been totally rebuilt. It was great to be a part of it and hopefully it may be the start of many this year. Finally it was great to replace my van although it was sad to see my old van go.

This month really was birthday month and I had five banners to do below are the three oldest 60, 90 and a massive 100 years old!!
This month I had the job of painting two logos on the Carholme Dental Practice walls in Lincoln. One logo was in the reception and the other was in the waiting room. Whilst painting the logo on the waiting room wall I herd lots of moaning and groaning I hope it was painful teeth and not my painting that was the cause!! A big thank you to all the stafff who were very friendly.
A wonderful old vintage Commer lorry to signwrite this week to end a fabulous year which has been busy from start to finish. The lorry, which is owned and has been superbly restored by Chris from Baumber was a great pleasure to paint and hopefully I will get the chance to paint the trailer in the new year.
Di and I once again enjoyed decorating our Christmas tree in St Mary’s Church in Horncastle. As always the event was a complete success with many many Trees from far and wide. The church looked a picture with a wonderful atmosphere. Well done to all the organisers who did such a good job. Above is our tree and below are just a few of the many other trees which all looked superb with everyone making such a great effort. Finally a big thank you to my wonderful wife for all her help.
It’s that time of year again when it turns much colder we all wear coats and “First” have their Christmas window painted this year it was Christmas trees. As you can see below. Below some of the seasonal windows I have painted over the last few years at the popular clothing store
Two more boards for Lincolnshire Poacher Cheeses. This time for the popular Lincoln Christmas Market. below are some signs I painted for the same firm but this time on canvas which was a little more tricky.
It was nice to help Horncastle Community Choir this month with their new Banner..... let’s hope they get lots of people at their next concert.
