Unusual job this month as I had four parking meter out of order covers to paint for the council. We can only hope they get a lot of use!!!
It was nice to be asked back to The North Federation of Women’s Institute in Horncastle as they wanted another sign for the wall facing the road. You may remember I was lucky enough to get the job of painting the sign when they first moved to the building about two years ago and it was rewarding to see the sign still looking good on my return. Below you can see the original sign which has been in place now for about two years.
Possibly the last sunny day this year to signwrite the front window at the new “Barking Dog Antique shop” in Horncastle. Owner Kathy has named the shop after her beautiful dog who I’m pleased to say does not live up to her name!!. Kathy is looking forward to meeting all the Horncastle customers. It was especially nice to signwrite this shop as many years ago it was Bettine’s hairdressers for many years. Bettine was a very dear and special friend of my wife Diana. I hope she would have approved of my painting. You can see a picture above taken on her 90th birthday.
It was nice to be called back to do more trailer covers for “Henson Franklyn” again. This time four more covers which makes twelve in all. Let’s hope there are more to come. It really is a pleasure to paint such a nice logo. Burger Bar gets a Refresh.Another job I returned to this month was Mandy’s Burger Bar which I repainted again after five years of constant daily use. As you can see below it’s now back to its sparkling best again.
I had a strange request this month as Charlie, one of my regular customers who is well known for playing Hercuel Poirot wanted me to loosely replicate BBC’s “Open all Hours” shop bike as he now plays Arkwright ....... is there no end to his talents!! You can see the original bike from the series below.
