The day I painted it the weather was very indifferent with sun shine one minute and rain the next. Luckily the signs had a slight lip over them so never got wet unlike me!! .
Again I have had several shops to signwrite this month and one of the nicest to paint was a hair and beauty shop in Tattershall called "John & Associates" it was enjoyable because it had a great logo which was fun to paint. This month I painted a bed & breakfast guest house sign for a couple in Scamblesby. The guest house called "Holme Dene" is set right in the middle of the beautiful Lincolnshire wolds and is a wonderful place to stay. The sign which was designed by the owners was unusual and a pleasure to paint especially the bike. The sign was a raffle prize which I had been pleased to donate to a charity auction in the local area. I have since got two more commissions from the sign so we were all winners.
It was nice to get the chance of restoring one of Heckington's oldest signs this month when I got the call from Heckington Parish Chambers. The sign has been there for many years and lt's amazing to think just how many of Heckington's residents have passed the sign over the years. What stories it could tell if it could talk!! It's nice to know that now it will be around for many more years to come. My thanks to the Chamber for their trust in me. The sign above before and after restoringIt was good to be asked back to do another curtain sided trailer for "Priestley's" of Heckington this month. I have painted about eight trailers over the years and it is great to see them on the road but even better on the rare occasions when they are all parked together.
You may remember I painted some shop windows in Horncastle on two occasions earlier this year. The windows were painted to celebrate the queens 90th birthday and also the Spring and Summer seasons. I was invited back again this month to paint their Autumn Windows. It was quite warm and uncomfortable working in the window but well worth the effort as lots of passers by said they liked the windows. Below you can see the earlier Windows I did celebrating 90 years of our wonderful queen and also the Summer season which I am told turned out to be very successful.
