What a pleasure it was this month getting a call to quote and then being trusted with the job of signwriting one of Woodhall Spa's most iconic businesses. That being "Robert Bell's Estate Agents". They are situated in Woodhalll's most prominent position right on the corner of Stixwould Road and Station Road by the mini roundabout, a spot they have held for over twenty three years since 1992 although they first moved into the village in a different spot in 1984 some eight years earlier. They are and have always been a big part of Woodhall Spa and indeed the county. Robert has four shops around the county which are in Woodhall, Coningsby, Horncastle and Lincoln and their shops are always kept in pristine condition, so are a pleasure to work on. Several signwriters have painted the signs on Robert's shops over the years and now I feel very honoured to be considered one of them. You may remember me signwriting the Broadway Garage some weeks ago (April blog) . Well it was nice to get another call from Dean asking me to paint the garage's van which he has just acquired. It's always nice to get a call to do a sign but even nicer to be called back again to do another job because it shows you are doing something right. So it was on a warm August morning that I started work on the green van. As I've said before you can usually remember the signs you have worked on from what you were listening to (books or songs), things going on in your life at the time or even as in this case news articles of the day. This day was no exception and the Broadway Garage van will always remind me of the sad death of British icon Cilla Black. Below are some pictures of the finished van hope you like it you may even see it driving around.
