It was nice to be back in Alford this month to letter the “Alford Focal Point” which is housed in the Old Library. As always it is a pleasure to work in Alford where all the people seem vey friendly .... let’s hope it’s not long before I’m back there again There must be a lot of tidy hedges in Sleaford!!!

More work for Jaqui this month at “Something Truly Vintage” in Horncastle. This time a selection of oddments for Horncastle visitors.
Back to Lincoln this month and a wonderful old building, to paint “The old pumping station” on the Great Northern Terrace which is steeped in history. After painting above the front door I painted onto the brick top of the side wall which was much trickier as the brickwork was rough but all in all a great job to do It was nice to work on such an old traditional building.
Over the last few months Hemingby clock has been repaired and I had the great honour and enjoyment of restoring and repainting the beautiful clockface at the same time as the repairs took place. Above is the clockface..... On the left as I received it & on the right in the finished condition. The back of the face was interesting and had the names of the Rev J.A.D. Legg and also the Secretary David Cotton painted on along with the year when it had been last restored which was 1985. It was restored due to a very generous donation from Patrick Bryant who lived in the village and I was asked to paint his name on the back. You can see this below along with my name!! I was very proud to have been asked to paint on the front of the clock just as Mr Sanderson the last signwriter had done 37 years before me .... an honour indeed!! Below is a picture of Mr Sanderson who was the previous painter. He was one of the signwriters for Bateman's Brewery who sponsored some of the restorations last time. As you can see from the clockface he was a superb signwriter.... I hope he would have approved of my humble work. It really was a pleasure and great honour to be just a small part of this wonderful church's history and work like this really makes my job worthwhile. Many thanks to the people of Hemingby for putting their trust in me.
It was great to do another two awnings for my home village of Woodhall Spa. This time it was for “Kitchenetta” the very popular coffee shop situated along the Broadway. I enjoyed painting the awnings because it is such a good logo and the cream really stands out on the burgundy. It was also nice to work for Etta who’s hard work has made Kitchenetta one of the top coffee shops in the area.. You can see the awnings below during painting just before they get their second coat.
