It was great to see one of the superb 36 "Lincoln Knights " Watching over my signwriting in Lincoln. The sign in question is the Cafe by the Arch which you may remember I painted last month Below are some of the photos from last month.
I am pleased to say.... but not surprised that the owner Simone Is doing a great job and the shop goes from strength to strength. Yet another busy month with many shops to do. Amongst them I had the pleasure of painting "Specialist Beauty" of Horncastle. Whilst painting the colourful logo on the window I discovered that owner Diana is quite an artist herself and her hand painted nails are a work of art I felt like passing her the brush. l am sure she could have done the job as good as me. As well as nails Diana also does waxing, massage, eyebrows, facials and aromatherapy all of which I painted on her shop window. Diana's shop is well worth a visit and there were plenty of happy customers the day I lettered the shop. It was a real pleasure to work for Diana and she seemed pleased with the finished shop ... but what do you think
Another curtain sider this month. This time only 36' long but still a lot of work. The trailer was for "Bury Lane Farm" who are based in Melbourne in Hertfordshire. Thankfully the job was made much easier with the use of a driveable platform which you can see below.. It was certainly fun to use !!
Wow what a fantastic job this month when I was trusted with the restoration and repaint of the three Coningsby village signs it was a great honour!. The signs mark the start of the village on the three main roads..... Dogdyke Road, Tattershall Road and Tumby Road. Before. ...........&............... AfterThe signs feature the village church with its famous one handed clock,.... War Memorial and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight with the Lancaster ,Spitfire and Hurricane. which I really enjoyed painting. I have enjoyed painting the three signs and will not forget them as I have to pass the signs most weeks.
It was nice to work for Dennetts of Spilsby once again and this time it was their new ice cream and traditional sweet shop which is in the town. I'm sure it will be very successful like their other shop in Lincoln where it's not unusual to see queues of people waiting patiently for an award winning ice cream. Below are some other jobs I have done for the Dennett family. You may remember the catering trailer which I painted on a hot summers day and their shop in Lincoln which was an absolute joy to do and one of the highlights of last year.
I painted six 20' X 8' Marque covers for Henderson Franklyn this month. The logo was nice but slightly different from the normal. I enjoyed painting them especially with the use of Ian's large table which made the job a lot easier. See what you think below
